New on Replication

I just started to use SQL Server replication. When I configue the Publisher
and Distributor (they are on same server), the snapshot folder is always
invalid. I was using administrator ID, the folder is located on the local
machine, it's shared. What else I need to change? Please help. Thanks.
Are you connected to a network? You need to be to be able to map a drive to
the snapshot share. I am pretty sure this is your problem. Note you can
install the loopback adapter and get it working that way.

|||Thanks for your response.
This server is connected to the network and I am able to map a drive to this
share folder, but when I chose the folder, it just wouldn't allow me to use
this folder as the snapshot share.

|||Check to make sure that the SQL Server agent account on the publisher has
rights to write to the share, and full control of the directory and
subdirectory of the folder underlying this share. By default it will be read
only.

new on asp.net 2.0 trying to figure out how to connect to a database

Right now I'm just looking at websites how to create a database and putting it in the App_Data folder which is no problem. What I want to do is Programmatically do it. in the example code that I see it says:

Dim ConnString as string = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings(connStringName).ConnectionString

or

Dim MyConnString as new sqlconnection = New SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings(connStringName).ConnectionString)

now every time I put the connStringName in the parenthasis it tells me that its an error: Name connstringName is not declared.

I figure the connstringName is the name in the connectionStrings in the web.config.

So I am doing something wrong here, I would appreciate any help.

Have a look athttp://www.asp.net/learn/videos/view.aspx?tabid=63&id=49

alsohttp://www.asp.net/learn/videos/view.aspx?tabid=63&id=110

and very concisely inhttp://quickstarts.asp.net/QuickStartv20/aspnet/doc/data/databases.aspx#connstrings

New Folder link not doing anything

Ive just installed Reporting Services onto Window 2003. I have Visual studio
2003 installed and IIS 6
When I go to the report manager the 'New folder' link does not work nor can
i create a new data source or upload a file. I click on these and nothing
happens.
When I go to a different machine other than the one where the server is
installed and go to the Report manager URL these links work, however this is
problematic as the datasource and reports etc sit on the server.
Anyone have any similar problems?.. what i do notice is on the server i am
prompted for a username and password each time i start report manager and am
thinking this might have something to do with it, on a different machine i am
prompted once and then not again.
thanksAdd the URL to your report server to Local Intranet Sites in your browser.
That should take care of the username prompting, and might solve the
problems with the links not working.
Add http://myreportserver/ , not http://myreportserver/reports.

files. I recall that something like http://machinename is stored in some
values by the isntallation routine. If you access SRS with a name other
than the machine name, the buttons stop working. Look in both config files
for Reports and ReportServer.

New Folder button missing

After installing reporting services we noticed that the New Folder button is
missing as well as the contents tab. This has worked on several other systems
that we installed. We referenced reporting services by typing in the browser
http://localhost/reports.
Any ideas on why or how to diagnose this problem? You might want to make sure that your permissions for your user name are
correct and that your role is "CONTENT MANAGER"
