new to MS SQL Server Analytics - Stock Price Trend Analysis

Hi,

I am new to Data Mining and have begun using SQL Server 2005 Analytics.

I want to identify a sudden increase/decrease [high volatility] in stock prices. My DB Table consists of Attributes:

1) Stock Price at end of trading day
2) Date [Data is collected for each stock once every trading day]
3) Daily forward return for stock = (Today's Price - Yesterday's Price)/Today's price
4) Name of the Stock for which above three values were collected [ie, Ticker Name]

I am not able to understand which Mining model will help me get a list of high volatility days in stock prices for each stock. [All I need is Name of Ticker and Date of High Volatility]

Any advice?

I believe this question was answered in the newsgroups, reposting the answer here:

"I recommend constructing a bunch of variables such as

- large burst 1 day ago
- number of medium bursts 1-2 weeks ago
etc.

You can then predict FWR from these inputs using a nerual net.

New Subscriptions Not Running

Hello,
I am running Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
For some reason all of the sudden any subscription I make in reporting
services will not run.
The status just stays at "New Subscription". I made a test schedule
that runs every 5 minutes.
I have even added old subscriptions to this schedule and I get email
every 5 minutes. Why would any new subscription I make not be running?
I don't even get an error message under the status heading in the
subscription list.

Ok... Here is something that I forgot to mention.. This is actually a
big thing.. I recently upgraded my computer so had to migrate the SQL
server and reporting services.. All of the existing reports run like a
charm.. I just can not get any new ones to run..

New icon appears after restarting Distribution/Merge agents - mean

Hello,
All of a sudden, Sql Server 2000 Replication has started failing for
Transaction and Merge Replication on our system. I have been restarting the
Distribution and Merge Agents and after Refresh, the Red X goes away (for a
little while). Something obviously is out of synch. But on the last restart
of the agents (which is actually the first time I restarted the Merge agent -
as previously only the Distribution Agent had the red x), now there is this
blue twisting Arrow inside of a small circle icon attached to the Replication
Monitor Icon, Publishers Icon, Agents Icon, and Distribution Icon. When I
click on the distribution icon, in the Right pane of Enterprise Manager, the
<Multiple Publications> icon also has the little circle with the blue
twisting arrow icon attached to it.
Is there any significance to this icon? What does it mean? It is not red
and is not an X, so it does not look that scary, but I am sure it means
something I need to worry about. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I just did a Refesh on the Replication Monitor and the strange new icon has
disappeard, and there is no Red X icon (what a relief). But I am still
curious what is the meaning of this icon of a little circle with the twisting
blue arrow attached to the Replication Monitor Icon and the others. This
strange icon was attached to the lower right corner of the main icon.
